about Big Spring Farm

Big Spring Farm is located in beautiful Big Spring, Maryland.  Just a stones throw from the C&O canal's 4 Locks area, the farm house has been situated near the Big Spring since approximately 1790.   The farm itself features in local lore as a site where Hessian soldiers were kept prisoner during the Revolutionary War, a hospital for soldiers during the Civil War and the home and meeting place for Washington County's politicians.  

Today we raise Australian Shepherds and Indian Runner ducks.
